Congregational Care Ministries – The Congregational Ministries Team provides ministries that support and nurture the congregation.
Collection Mission Ministries – Our commitment to Missions covers many different areas. Locally, we provide a Food Pantry ministry on Tuesdays and Thursdays and work with area schools to provide school supplies. With other United Methodist Churches, we assist with items for the United Methodist Committee on Relief through Ingathering.
Congregational Events Ministries – The Congregational Events Ministries Team plans and coordinates events that support and nurture the congregation. The R & R team plans our Wednesday evening meals and activities. The Fellowship team plans and coordinates other church wide events such as potlucks or church picnics.
Volunteer Mission Ministries – Through Volunteers in Missions our church will assist with various mission projects of the United Methodist Church. These include trips to the UMCOR distribution center at Sager-Brown in Louisiana, disaster training and disaster relief, and Saturday trips to assist with camp clean-ups or church repairs. UMY plans to participate in Ozark Mission Project in the summer of 2011. Volunteers in Missions requires all volunteers to pay their expenses or raise funds within the church for all trips.
Church Building and Grounds Care
Evangelism/Hospitality Ministries – Lead the congregation in radical hospitality. Evangelism reaches out to others to introduce them to Jesus, invites people to come, welcomes them once they are here, thanks them for coming, invites them to return, then incorporates them into the church family.
Discipleship Ministries – Lead the Congregation in intentional faith development. The Discipleship Team is responsible for the curriculum, teacher training and support, and classes that help us grow in our faith.
Administrative & Office Help
Young Adult Ministry
Worship Ministries – Lead the congregation in passionate worship. The Worship Team works with the pastor to plan worship that connects people to God through the Holy Spirit. This includes our weekly services plus special services and events for Advent, Christmas, Lent, Holy Week, and Pentecost.
Communications Ministries – This committee strives to build communication both within the congregation and with the outside world through advertising, printed materials, and web-based activities.
