Adult Ministries
At Cabot United Methodist Church, we have a variety of opportunities for adults to study and to be in ministry together. We offer all levels of Disciple Bible Study and many different Sunday School classes. There are also a variety of ministry groups, such as United Methodist Women and Golden Age Methodist Association. Adults also have the opportunity to participate in other outreach ministries within the community, including the Food Pantry and Habitat for Humanity.

Disciple Bible Study
A long-term, in-depth Bible study program. Disciple is an opportunity for life-changing spiritual development and growth. You will have the opportunity to discuss with others what God's word says and how it applies to your life today.
Disciple I: Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study is a 34 week overview of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. The emphasis is on how the Bible informs our understanding of discipleship.
Disciple II: Into the Word, Into the World is a 32 week study of Genesis, Exodus, Luke and Acts. The emphasis is on an active discipleship in the world.
Disciple III: Remember Who You Are is a 32 week study of the books of the prophets and the letters of Paul. The emphasis is on a committed personal study and ministry in the community.
Disciple IV: Under the Tree of Life is
a 32 week study of the Writings literature in the Old
Testament along with the Gospel of John and
Revelation in the New Testament. The emphasis
is on continued discipleship and spiritual growth
along with God's promise for the future.

Disciple I is required in order to take the other studies. After taking Disciple I, you may take the other studies in any order.
Each class meets for one two-hour session each week. Students should plan on spending about 45 minutes each day in study to prepare for each weekly session. Classes run concurrent with the school year. Cost for Disciple is $37. This fee covers the cost of the book. Due to the nature of the class and the work involved, each person will need his/her own book.
Is Disciple easy? Reasonably. Is it time consuming? Yes. But it is also transforming. The goal of Disciple is "transformation not information." By giving up one TV show per day, or getting up 30 minutes earlier, or studying during your lunch break, you can become more familiar with God's Word and its effect on you life.
