Music Ministry

Photo: Music Ministry - ChoirCabot United Methodist Church is a church that enjoys a strong music program and encourages new members to consider becoming a part of this vital and important ministry. Cabot UMC has a choir for all ages. These include Riverkids Choir, Youth Choir and Chancel Choir. We also have handbells for children, youth and adults.

For more information about the following Music Ministry opportunities, please contact Chuck Massey, Director of Music Ministries, at 501-843-3541.

Riverkids Choir

During the fall and spring, Riverkids Choir gives our children an entertaining and educational opportunity to learn and perform choral music written for the young singer. They will meet Wednesday nights from 6:00 - 6:30 p.m., just prior to FaithWeaver Friends.

Youth Choir

For teens, 7th through 12th grades. This group meets each Wednesday evening from 5:15 - 6:00 p.m. during the school year. They will perform during worship services, as well as special church functions.

Youth Praise Band

Also for teens, 7th-12th grades. If you play a musical instrument or sing and enjoy praise music, we would invite you to join us on Sunday afternoons. For more information and time, contact the church office, 843-3541. This group performs during Youth RockSolid on Wednesday nights.

Agape Ringers & Celebration Ringers

If members of your family would like to ring English Handbells (no experience necessary) we have a group for you. Agape Ringers (Adults) practice Sundays 6:00 - 7:00 p.m., and Celebration Ringers (Youth) practice 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Sundays. These ringers provide music for worship and special services. Openings in these groups occur periodically, and we are always in need of substitutes!

Adult Choirs

On Sunday mornings, special choral music is presented to our congregation during each of the worship services. The choirs for each service work hard to present an interesting and appropriate program of worship music. Membership in either of the worship service volunteer choirs does not require prior experience, or the ability to read music. It only requires a love of singing. The Chancel Choir (10:50 a.m. Traditional Service) rehearses Wednesdays 7:00-8:30 p.m.
