“ECA – Early Christian Awareness”
6 months-36 months
Children learn very quickly when they are young and are capable of absorbing much more information than we can imagine.  ECA is a non-denominational program that offers a structured learning time, supplementing quality child care in the infant/toddler ministry.  We strive to teach awareness and wonder of the God-created beauties of the world using all the child’s senses.  Each child learns that they are special and that God loves them.  ECA 1 is designed for infants 6-18 mos., and ECA 2 is designed for infants 18-36 mos

Pre-School “FaithWeaver” Sunday School
3 years old – Kindergarten
FaithWeaver’s goal is to help children grow in their relationship with Jesus. FaithWeaver focuses on life application, even at this early age. One important point is taken from the Bible story each week and the children will learn about this Bible point through many different means, which is similar to the model used by 1st – 6th graders. The children sing songs, interact with a puppet, make a craft, hear a story, and share what they learn with their peers.

1st – 4th grade
Using the Workshop Rotation Model, we have 5 classrooms that are multi-dimensional, creative workshops, where Bible stories are taught through drama, art, story telling, movies, music, cooking, puppetry, science, prayer, Bible study, games, and mission projects. The classes rotate workshops each week of the 4-5 week rotation.

  1. All children will do a wellness check before coming to CUMC:
    • No COVID symptoms-fever, cough, vomiting, diarrhea or congestion.
    • Not in close contact with anyone currently with a positive COVID-19 test or with pending COVID-19 results.
  2. Face masks must be worn at all times by Adult Leaders as well as Pre-K, Kindergarten and all Elementary Students during class.
  1. Parents should bring their child each week to the Check-In Station where the child’s temperature will be taken. If a child has a fever of 99.5 or higher, they should not attend Sunday School
  2. Only one parent should come into the hallway to drop-off/pick up their child.  Please maintain 6’ social distancing in the hallways while dropping off or picking up your child.  (Please remember that a parent should drop-off/pick-up their child – children may not be released to a sibling.)
  1. To limit the number of entrances and exits into the classrooms, only adult workers should enter the classrooms.
  2. Your child’s hands will be sanitized or washed with soap and water as they enter the classroom.
  3. Please do not bring items from home into the Sunday School classrooms. (unless a child is bringing their Bible – please make sure their name is inside the Bible.)
  4. No sharing of supplies. (If supplies are needed, pre-packaged bags of supplies will be available in the classroom.)
  5. Children should be picked up no later than 10:50 a.m. allowing Leaders time to attend the 11:00 service if they so choose. Also, due to COVID, children’s activities during Sunday School are somewhat restricted so a timely pick-up will be helpful for all who are working with your children.
  6. If your child develops any symptom during Sunday School, parents will be contacted through a text message to pick up your child.
