Administrative

  • Answer phones-as needed weekly
  • Count offering or serve as a substitute counter-Monday morning

Building and Grounds

  • Building Steward-unlock the building and complete checklist-7:30am each Sunday
  • Adopt a flower bed or island-be responsible for the maintenance of a single bed or area
  • Litter crew-clean up around the grounds or organize a group to do so
  • Clean Up Day-twice yearly
  • Mowing-join a crew of mowers who work weekly during growing periods
  • Weed eat/trim-weekly- during growing periods
  • Kitchen Maintenance-clean up and keep supplies stocked 

Children’s Ministry

  • Rotation Sunday School/River Guide-travel with the children to their classes each Sunday morning
  • Rotation Sunday School/Workshop Leader-implement prepared lessons on a rotating basis on Sunday mornings
  • Teacher in Pre-School-lead children ages 3-K on Sunday mornings 10-11am, usually rotating weeks
  • Helper in Pre-School-help with children ages 3-K on a rotating basis
  • Early Christian Awareness/Teacher-lead children 6-36 months in a short lesson-little prep for Sundays
  • Early Christian Awareness/Helper-assist with the above: 15-20 minutes on the Sunday you are serving
  • Worship Our Way/Leader-lead WOW service (lessons provided) rotating commitment
  • Worship Our Way/Guide-walk with the children and stay in WOW during their service
  • Kids Rock/Teacher-lead a rotation for children on Wednesday night Fall/Spring sessions
  • Kids Rock/Helper-escort small groups of children through guided learning activities
  • Supply Person-gather supplies for the Kids Rock or Rotation SS weekly prior to classes
  • Club 56 Leader

  • Buddy for Special Needs Children)- requires helping with crafts during Rotation SS and providing help during the service-as needed

Communication

  • Bulletin Boards-update and maintain bulletin boards around the church-as requested
  • Take pictures of events for use during services or newsletter, etc.-as requested
  • Make videos of events for use during services or newsletter, etc.-as requested

Congregational Care

  • Meals to members during crisis/bereavement-provide a food item as needed
  • Assist with set-up, serving, and clean up after funerals-as needed
  • Send cards to shut-ins, hospitalized, nursing home residents-as needed and/or on a regular basis
  • Create and drop off gift items/bags to the above groups on a regular basis
  • Deliver communion monthly to shut ins and as requested for other convalescence
  • Point person in the 9:00 am service to share needs of individuals in this community with the committee

Discipleship

  • Lead a LifeGroup
  • Teach a Bible Study
  • Write for the Lenten Devotional Booklet

LifeGroups

  • Joy Circle-monthly meeting at the church/check bulletin for details
  • Women of the Word-monthly meeting at the church-first Monday of the month at 6:30 pm in Room 110 of the Wesley Center
  • Men’s Breakfast-meets in FLC at 6:00 am each Wednesday; first Wednesday of the month at Grinds Coffee across the street from the church

Missions

  • Kairos Prison Ministry-building a Christian community within prisons-Nov and June 
  • Men at Work-provide assistance in light construction projects as requested
  • Christmas Feast-work on committee prior to and on Christmas Day to provide food for over 1100 people
  • Back 2 School Fair-donate time, money, skills for a 1-day August event to help children prepare for school with shoes, backpacks, and supplies
  • Samaritan’s Purse/Christmas Connection-provide items for shoe box ministry to send worldwide to children of all ages
  • Lunch Box Connection (joint project with Renew Church)-project to provide meals with those in need
  • Driver for Adult Mission trips
  • Disaster Relief-provide funds or hands-on service following disasters in nearby areas

Prayer Team

  • Weekly prayer group meets Sunday afternoon to pray intentionally

Recovery and Support Groups

  • NAMI Connection Mental Health Support Group

Worship

  • Set up for worship-alter set up, restock pew supplies-ongoing 
  • Seasonal décor-assist with seasonal transitions by decorating sanctuary and/or The River areas
  • Communion Steward-prepare elements for communion prior to service first Sundays; coordinate with pastor
  • Communion Server-serve communion on the first Sunday of the month or deliver to shut-ins/infirmed
  • Accompanist-play an instrument and/or substitute on the piano as needed
  • Chancel Choir-practice Tuesdays and perform at the late service on Sundays
  • Handbells-rehearse and perform for worship in the sanctuary
  • Ushers/Greeters-presence needed prior to any worship service-usually a rotation commitment
  • River Service Lights-run a computer-based program of pre-built light schemes where timing is important.  This is behind the scenes sound room work.  Sunday 7:30 am arrival
  • River and Sanctuary Sound Board.  This person adjusts the sound in the room.  If no previous experience, there is some training. This person arrives at 7:30am on Sunday.
  • River and Sanctuary Worship Slides.  Operate pre-built PowerPoint slides during the service.  This person arrives at 7:30am to practice with the band and the preaching staff member.  Timing and flexibility are important. 
  • Broadcast Team-training provided-attention to detail and timing are important skills needed to serve in this capacity-Sunday morning commitment  

Youth

  • Help plan community service projects
  • Small Group Leader-Wednesdays 6-8 pm
  • Adult Floater-Wednesdays 3:30-5:30 pm
  • Adult floater-Wednesdays 5:00-6:00
  • Mentor-provide mentorship to youth participants
  • Confirmation-lead confirmand study prior to confirmation; mentor one confirmand through the process
  • Cook/Clean-for Wednesday nights and youth events
  • Prepare Meals for Wednesday night and youth events
  • Help clean and organize Youth Room
  • Decorate youth rooms
  • Set up for events-as needed
  • Communications-help communicate with new and currently active families
